Hey there Shopify HR!

My name is Thomas Paloheimo, and I am thrilled to have you in here poking around my Shopify store. I just wanted to tell you a bit about myself. I am a 36 year-old tech geek, previously in the media industry, who has moved to a small town to better provide for my family.

My passion is for adventure. And for me, adventure is about challenging myself. There is no real adventure without fear, or the threat of setbacks. Since recovering from my Bone Marrow Transplant, I have chosen to really test the limits of my health, both mental and physical, by challenging myself to actively do things that intimidate me.


From big things like white water kayaking; taking hikes alone in the woods; or taking grade 12 calculus 20 years after failing math in high school. To small things like: trying to jump in to cold water despite hating it; to keeping a challenging exercise routine; or just letting myself be the loudest, silliest parent on the playground when playing with my daughter.

My wife says I am fearless about taking on new challenges, but I am definitely not fearless. Real adventure involves real fear, and I’m working hard to push through that fear to try and become a better version of myself, every day.

I really hope that this gives you a better sense of who I am, and who I’m trying to become. And I hope it aligns with Shopify's overall vision for it's employees!
